Behaviour Support
Build Skills. Reduce Stress. Understand Behaviour.
Our behaviour support team partners with you to understand the reasons behind behaviours of concern and develop practical, person-centred strategies. We focus on building capacity, improving safety, and promoting long-term wellbeing, always with respect, compassion, and care.

What is Behaviour Support?
We’ve developed our Behaviour Support program to help people with disability, their families, and support networks to respond more effectively to behaviours of concern. We use an evidence-based approach to uncover the underlying needs behind behaviours, then develop tailored Behaviour Support Plans that are clear and grounded in the person’s strengths and goals.
We work to support improved quality of life, not just for the participant, but for the people around them too.
Our Process
We follow a clear, person-centred process to ensure support is effective, ethical, and collaborative.
1. Referral & Engagement
We begin with a referral and a conversation to understand the individual’s needs, goals, and context.
2. Functional Behaviour Assessment
A comprehensive assessment is conducted to explore the function, triggers, and context behind behaviours of concern.
3. Interim Plan
(if required)
If needed, we provide an Interim Behaviour Support Plan to address immediate risks or needs while the comprehensive plan is developed.
4. Behaviour Support Plan
We develop a detailed Behaviour Support Plan outlining proactive strategies, skill-building supports, and environmental adjustments.
5. Implementation & Training
Where funded, we offer coaching and support to teams and carers to build understanding and consistency in plan delivery.
6. Monitoring & Review
We review outcomes regularly, updating strategies to ensure support stays responsive, relevant, and person-centred.

Yes. We take a team-based approach and work closely with families, carers, and support staff to ensure consistency and build everyone’s capacity to respond with confidence and care.
A Behaviour Support Plan includes strategies for preventing and responding to behaviours of concern, ways to build new skills, and any safeguards required. It also includes goals, responsibilities, and review timelines.
Yes. We’re committed to minimising and eliminating restrictive practices through proactive strategies and positive support. We also assist with required reporting to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Behaviour support focuses on understanding and responding to behaviours of concern in everyday settings—often where those behaviours occur. It involves developing practical, person-centred strategies and working closely with support networks (like family or carers) to improve safety, independence, and wellbeing.
Behaviour therapy, on the other hand, typically involves clinical sessions with a therapist and may include interventions like CBT or ABA. While both can complement each other, behaviour support is more team-oriented and focused on real-life environments and relationships.
